Pilar Parra highlights the important contribution of the jury of the Jaén International Competition to the prestige of this contest

The vice president of the City Council has received the members of the jury of this 61st edition and the advisory council of this contest, which ends this Friday, May 3

The vice president of the Jaén City Council, Pilar Parra, accompanied by the deputy for Culture and Sports, Juan Ángel Pérez, has received the members of the jury, as well as the advisory council of the 61st Jaén International Piano Competition that organises the provincial Administration. In this act, Pilar Parra thanked everyone for the work they do in this event, as well as for the "important contribution" that they make to the prestige of this piano prize, one of the oldest of its musical modality. 

The Spanish musician Albert Attenelle is again the chairman of the jury of the contest, which includes great interpreters from Spain, Japan, Bulgaria and Germany. Specifically, the jury members are the Spanish pianists Pilar Bilbao and Rafael Quero, the Japanese Akemi Alink-Yamamoto and Mi-Joo Lee, as well as Ralf Nattkemper and Enma Tahmiziàn, from Germany. Also, for the first time this year, Ernesto Rocío, professor at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Jaén, acts as secretary. 

Tomorrow, Friday, May 3, the final of this 61st edition will be celebrated, in which the jury will have to choose between the pianists Nicolas Bourdoncle, from France, Sun-A Park, from United States, and Alexander Koryakin, from Russia. The winner will receive 20,000 euros, the Gold Medal of the contest and diploma, plus he will make a recording with the label Naxos and will give four concerts - in Granada, Jaén, Úbeda and Bochum (Germany).
